The other day Erin was singing to herself and I stopped to listen. At one point she merged Hot Chelle Rae and Miley Cyrus and was singing “Tonight, tonight, there’s a party in the U.S.A.” I thought that was pretty darn cute. :D

This edition of Tuesday Tunes I thought I’d again mention the seemingly random way one of the local radio stations in my area censors songs. For example, in Bruno Mars’ “Lazy Song” they bleep out the word “sex” the one time it is in the song. However, they have no problem playing Marcy Playground’s “Sex and Candy” without beeping out anything.

On this edition of Tuesday Tunes I thought I’d play some bands that define the Celtic punk genre:

  • The Pogues – If I Should Fall from Grace with God
  • Flogging Molly – Drunken Lullabies
  • Dropkick Murphys – Going Out In Style

This episode of Tuesday Tunes I thought I’d highlight different versions of the same song – Angel of the Morning.

  • performed by The Pretenders – this is the version I always knew as being “the” version
  • performed by Chip Taylor – I was surprised to find out that Jon Voight’s brother wrote this song among others
  • performed by Shaggy – I really like this interpretation of this song

And as an added bonus, just in case you thought the bass line in Shaggy’s version sounded familiar but couldn’t place it – The Steve Miller Band’s The Joker.
