So, this past week I have prevailed over our kitchen drain. It had gotten so bad that the dishwasher overflowed and made quite the mess to clean up. But we managed to clear that without having to call a plumber in. However, my fight with my guitar did not end as pleasantly. I brought it in to get repaired today. The fact that I wasn’t able to fix that myself really irritates me more than had we had to call a plumber in. I mean afterall, I consider myself a guitarist so why can’t I get the bridge of my guitar to adjust properly. At least I can be consoled that I am not the only person who has difficulties with floating bridges. It seems to be a fairly common problem.
The details, should you be interested, is that I have an electric guitar with a Floyd Rose floating bridge. Apparently when you change the strings you have to be really careful not to get a diffeerent gauge string and you shouldn’t take all the strings off otherwise the bridge gets horribly unbalanced. Well, I did not know this, and I am guessing I messed up on both counts. I must have put a different gauge string on and I took them all off and then put the new ones on. This has been an ongoing issue and I have not been able to get the bridge balanced even after weeks (on and off) of fighting with it. So today I brought it in to have it professionally set. Oh well.
In other news, gas is $2.15 a gallon now and the temperature is in the 30′s today. Apparently Mother Nature didn’t get the memo that Spring started. It was in the 50′s and 60′s a few days ago, and last night we had crazy winds that brought in the cold.
