Today for Worker Wednesday I thought I would again mention an item of National interest and one of State interest. For the National bit I direct your attention to this editorial What Part of ‘Stimulus’ Don’t They Get?. It is appalling to me that Republicans continue to work against the best interests of the working class. This stimulus money is real money that can help a lot of people right now and they are complaining because it might cause a tax increase in several years. So for that we should let people starve? And if it was up to the Republicans who would get their taxes raised?The very people they are refusing to help right now.
Unfortunately it is not just members of the Republican party that seem to hate the working class. Our own Goveernor Paterson still refuses to consider a progressive tax structure even though 77% of New Yorkers think it is a good idea (SNY Poll). And he seems intent on gutting the education system in New York as well. Please tell Governor Paterson to Stop!
