17 years in the making, the new Guns N’ Roses album Chinese Democracy is on its way to a release date. The title track has been released. It’s not bad. Considering Axl Rose is the only remaining original member of the band calling it GNR is kind of a stretch. It also is a departure from both classic GNR and crazy orchestral Illusion GNR. It’s not that I don’t like the song, but I think if Axl released it as a solo album or under a different band name it would be better received. No matter what kind of GNR fan you are (I preferred the Appetite years more than Illusion) this is different. Different style, different musicians, different. Not that different is bad, it’s just not GNR. Either way, I am looking forward to hearing the whole album. Maybe I’ll buy it, or maybe I’ll wait 17 years… ;)

The important thing is, when do I get my Dr. Pepper? :D

This is an old one that I had not come across until a friend pointed it out to me today. :D

I was surprised to find out that the Buffalo News has endorsed Barack Obama for President.

I’ve always found the Buffalo News to be strongly anti-union and generally conservative, so I was surprised to hear that they have endorsed Obama. Of course that is the interesting thing, are conservatives jumping the McCain ship? Or, judging from the comments, are the editors of the News causing a bit of controversy for themselves?

Erin Carly, exactly one year ago you came into our life in the most amazing, natural way possible. It never occurred to me that you didn’t have to go to a hospital to have a baby delivered, but it was a wonderful thing. :D Today we sang to you at church, went out for a nice lunch, had fun at Halloween Fest on the campus, and came home for cake, presents, and dinner. Even though you didn’t sleep well last night and we skipped nap, you held it together pretty well. ;) I think you had fun today, I know I did as did Mom and your sisters.

It seems that just yesterday you were busy being born. How is it that you’ve turned one already? I love you!

So in the tradition of our digital camera’s breaking, our Kodak broke. The camera still takes pictures, but the LCD doesn’t work, so since there is no viewfinder you have no idea what you are taking a picture of. So yesterday Karen picked up a Fujifilm 10 megapixel camera for a good price. This camera is sweet! It takes really awesome pictures and video. The super-macro mode is really pretty good too:

Today we went to Harvest Hollow to get our pumpkins, the girls had fun playing. They stopped long enough for me to get their picture:

I uploaded 50 or so pictures to my Flickr site.
