17 years in the making, the new Guns N’ Roses album Chinese Democracy is on its way to a release date. The title track has been released. It’s not bad. Considering Axl Rose is the only remaining original member of the band calling it GNR is kind of a stretch. It also is a departure from both classic GNR and crazy orchestral Illusion GNR. It’s not that I don’t like the song, but I think if Axl released it as a solo album or under a different band name it would be better received. No matter what kind of GNR fan you are (I preferred the Appetite years more than Illusion) this is different. Different style, different musicians, different. Not that different is bad, it’s just not GNR. Either way, I am looking forward to hearing the whole album. Maybe I’ll buy it, or maybe I’ll wait 17 years… ;)

The important thing is, when do I get my Dr. Pepper? :D
