It’s all about the delegates

Something that is often glossed over in the coverage I’ve been following for the election is that the popular vote doesn’t really mean anything. The number of delegates and super-delegates won is what will decide who is the final candidate for President. The best online counter I have found so far for watching this is CNN’s Election Center.

You can check the Democrat Delegate Scorecard or the Republican Delegate Scorecard.

At the moment it looks like both Clinton and McCain have a comfortable lead over their respective opponents. Of course it is not over yet. :)

yes it’s all in the delegate count – but clinton does not have a comfortable lead at this time (2/6/2008) – obama is only 42 delegates behind
