Why is it that the biggest news about the latest Mac OS, Leopard, all seems to revolve around running Windows and Windows programs? Between rumors about native Windows application support to Apple’s very own top 10 next big things it would seem that the best thing about that shiny new Mac is that it is all about the Windows. For some reason I would rather dispense with the condescending elitist Apple hardware and just run Windows on a regular PC. :D

I can just see it now, the Bobs from Office Space come in to interview current Mac users:

BOB SLYDELL
So what you do is you run Windows Vista and Office 2007 on your Mac?

Mac User
That, that’s right.

BOB PORTER
Well, then I gotta ask, then why can’t you just run Vista and Office on a PC, huh?

Mac User
Well, uh, uh, uh, because, uh, PCs are not good at dealing with software.

BOB SLYDELL
So your Mac never crashes?

Mac User
Well, no, my, my Mac does that, it, it does crash.

BOB SLYDELL
Ah.

BOB PORTER
Then you must have better productivity running Windows on your Mac.

Mac User
Well…no. Yeah, I mean, sometimes.

BOB SLYDELL
Well, what would you say… you do here?

Mac User
Well, look, I already told you. I run Windows on the goddamn Macintosh so
I am better than you!! I have Apple skills!! I am good at
dealing with Apple!!! Can’t you understand that?!? WHAT THE HELL IS
WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?!!!!!!!

I just read that Tom Petty will be playing the halftime show of this years super bowl. (link)

I really enjoy his music, so this is pretty exciting news. Except for the fact that I don’t watch football. And the fact that I don’t have TV service. But still, it’s Tom Petty! :D I hope he doesn’t play any songs that require lame edits to air. I hate listening to “You Don’t Know How It Feels” on the radio and having to hear “hit” another joint instead of “roll.” What a pointless edit. And even more pointless because it was on the radio unedited for a while before it got switched. Silly.

Karen took me to see Tom Petty a few years ago at Darien Lake. Brian Setzer opened for him. It was a fabulous show! :D I still remember it fondly.

Today was Miracle on Main St. in Fredonia. First was a girls outing to make gingerbread houses; Erin, Grandpa Greg, and I stayed home. Then we all met down at the Grange for crafts and to see Santa. Bella wrote a letter to Santa, but refused to go see him. Erin was very calm about the whole thing. :)
