So, I’m watching Revenge of the Sith, and so far it’s as good as I remember it. I haven’t felt the need to skip ahead like I usually do in the other prequels. It is definately my favorite of the prequel trilogy, and possibly even of the entire series. We saw it in the theatre when it came out, and I was surprised at the number of very young kids that were there. Some of them looked very traumitized when the movie was over.
The whole Star Wars universe is an interesting topic to me. I enjoy the movies, the radio broadcasts of the original trilogy and the books I have read. I like how everything ties together to form the story. Very interesting stuff.

So, one of the things I received for Christmas this year was the Nirvana box set. This is an absolutey amazing collection. I am about halfway through listening to it. I have to admit that I admire Kurt Cobain as a songwriter and musician. I still remember hearing on the radio when he killed himslef. I was driving with some friends and it came through on the radio. I was stunned and saddened by the news. It’s interesting how I can remember with such clarity the event and my feelings even though it’s been almost 11 years.

So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
Ans so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young

A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let’s hope it’s a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Christmas
For weak and for strong
For rich and the poor ones
The world is so wrong
And so happy Christmas
For black and for white
For yellow and red ones
Let’s stop all the fight
A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let’s hope it’s a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Christmas
And what have we done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
Ans so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young
A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let’s hope it’s a good one
Without any fear

so today was a catch up, get ready for christmas kind of day. I did home-fixer kinds of things like clear a plugged drain in the bathroom sink and replaced 2 bad electric recepticles. We had to do a lot of cleaning to get ready for christmas so the house will look presentable if people stop by. I finished up my shopping today, and apparently a lot of people waited until the last minute to go shopping, it was crazy out! I was able to get in and out of 6 stores in about an hour, so I guess I didn’t do too bad. Not all christmas shopping, but sometimes errands are unavoidable, even around the holdiays.
The girls are getting excited about christmas. We were able to get to the mall yesterday so they got to see santa and get their picture taken with him.
Watching Forrest Gump on TV, it’s funny, it seems everyone rushed christmas since before thanksgiving, but now on the 23rd of december there aren’t any christmas movies on at all. Go figure….

Please, please, please drive safely. So today on my way to pick up Gillian I almost get hit while sitting at a red light. The roads are very slushy at the moment and someone decided to take a right turn a little fast. I had to back up very fast in order to not get hit. Then on the way home, someone decided that a right turn on red took precedence over a green left turn arrow. So then after they cut me off they proceeded to drive UNDER the speed limit. Ugh. The one thing having kids driving in the car with me has helped me to keep my cool. So anyway, use some common sense whilst driving. Nothing is worth getting into a car accident and causing grief in someones day.

So I was listening to ‘Inside the Net’ and they were focusing on Protopage a new customizable web page. So I immediately set myself up with a page and began to play. It is really neat. You can set up variuos feeds and links, give yourself some sticky notes, etc. Go check it out. It’s worth it.

There are 3 podcasts I listen to on a regular basis (as soon after they are released as possible). They are:

1. This Week In Tech (TWiT) starring Leo Laporte. This podcast, as the name implies, is about tech happenings in the past weeks time. I have much respect for Leo Laporte and am an avid fan of his since ‘The Screen Savers’ was on ZDTV (yes I am a geek). Average length 1 – 1.5 hours.

2. Inside the Net starring Amber MacArthur. This is another tech podcast, newer than TWit and much shorter, about .5 hours. Much nicer timeframe to listen to tahn TWit…

3. Infected, starring Martin Sargent. This is one of the funniest things I’ve heard in a while. Just don’t listen to it at work, very explicit language.

I highly recommend any or all of these podcasts. They are definately worth a listen.

Listening to the 30 #1 Hits of Elvis Presley that my Dad sent me. While I don’t like every song on the album for the most part it is great. I’ve been an Elvis fan since I was a little kid. I like Rock N’ Roll Elvis, I like Lounge Singer Elvis, thin Elvis, fat Elvis, it doesn’t really matter to me. It’s all good.
In one of my favorite movies, Pulp Fiction, Mia asks Vincent if he is either an Elvis man or a Beatles man. The idea being that you can like both of them, but you have to like one of them more. That seems to be accurate. I do like the Beatles, but given the choice I’d listen to Elvis first. Of course, if you said John Lennon or Elvis that would be a harder choice. I think at that point I’d go with Lennon.
